A 26-year-old woman claimed to have been raped early on Sunday morning in her apartment in Vårby, south of Stockholm, after she left her balcony door open during the night.

“The perpetrator, who lives in the building, snuck in through the open balcony door and raped the woman and threatening her with a knife,” said Michael Johansson, police spokesman, on Sunday to Svenska Dagbladet. “After he left the flat, the woman called us herself.”

Police have a witness who saw a man disappear out through the balcony door and enter an apartment on the bottom floor.

The suspect is 17-years-old and has been suspected of theft among other things. The man was in custody Sunday suspected of rape.
