A 15-year-old girl from Södertälje died on Monday night after being run over by a stolen electric mail cart driven by a 14-year-old boy.

The girl was taken to the hospital, but died from her injuries. The boy ran from the cart after hitting the girl. Police found him soon after and returned him to his home because of his age.

Police had a meeting today with the social services to decide what would happen with the boy.

Those living in the area of Saltskog called police Monday complaining about the cart that was being driven on walkways in the neighborhood. When police showed up they found the girl who was stretched out on the walkway unconscious with head wounds.

“We think that she was just walking and this boy just ran her over and took off because he was so shocked,” said Joakim Svensson, police spokesman.
