Swedish Foreign Minister Jan Eliasson was in Brussels on Thursday attending to debate what future contributions Sweden could make to a United Nation's peacekeeping force in Lebanon.

Göteborgs-Posten reported that a mandate for a U.N. force is a problem for the Swedish government. Eliasson will attend an EU foreign ministers meeting on Friday regarding a force in southern Lebanon, reported SVT.

Italy is the only country so far that has said it is ready to contribute to contribute soldiers to the area.
