A car was driven off the edge of the quay in Luleå's south harbour just after 9pm on Saturday. One man died.

"The body was removed from the car by divers and taken to Sunderbyn hospital," said Erik Kummu at Norrbotten police to TT.

The depth of the water at the scene of the incident was said to be eight metres.

As well as police and ambulances, the emergency services sent a boat and divers to the scene. But the man's life could not be saved.
