Poll gives Alliance clear lead
A poll published late on Saturday gave the opposition Alliance a lead of nearly 7 percent, just one day before Sweden goes to the polls.
The Synovate Temo poll is the only survey published so far that measures opinion right up to Saturday, with those published earlier on Saturday measuring opinion only up to Thursday evening.
In the poll, the Alliance has the support of 50.8 percent of those questioned, while the Social Democrats and their supporting parties have 43.9 percent.
While none of the individual parties had seen a statistically significant c change in support, the difference between the two blocs as a whole was more apparent.
The Social Democrats had the support of 33.6 percent of those asked. If this figure was repeated in the election it would represent one of the worst results ever for the party that often sees itself as the natural party of government in Sweden.
