15:25 CEST+02:00
Prime minister Göran Persson spent polling day at the prime ministerial residence in the Sagerska House.

Tabloid Aftonbladet reported that he was planning to stay in the residence until going to the Social Democrats' election night party at 6.30 pm.

Persson's press secretary would not tell the paper whether the prime minister had the company of wife Anitra during the day.

According to tradition, Persson and opponent Fredrik Reinfeldt will later go on to television channel SVT's headquarters in Stockholm.
