Left Party leader Lars Ohly has said that the election is still not lost for the left-wing parties.

"Some people have counted us out. But we are a party with self-confidence, certain in our policies, which is going to play a big role in the future," he told supporters at his election night party in Stockholm.

"Reinfeldt has not won yet, and we have shown that we are a party like no other. We are the only socialist and feminist party."

"Regardless of the result we will start working again tomorrow," he said.
