Swedish royals to visit Canada

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will visit Canada from October 24th to 28th, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced on Monday.

“Canada and Sweden have long standing close and friendly diplomatic relations,” Harper said in a statement.

“The visit by the King and Queen of Sweden to Canada underline the shared values and common goals held by our two countries and two peoples.”

The royal couple, on their second official visit to Canada, will meet with Governor General Michaelle Jean and attend various sports, environmental and cultural sites in Ottawa, Toronto Montreal and Quebec City.
