A death threat has been made against Magnus Ljungkvist, the Social Democrat press secretary who revealed details about trade minister Maria Borelius' income, a revelation that led to her resignation.

Ljungkvist revealed on his blog that Borelius, who had claimed that she paid her nanny cash in hand because she 'couldn't afford' to pay over the table, was together with her husband earning over a million kronor per year.

The revelation was followed by a clutch of abusive and threatening emails to Ljungkvist.

"People write that I look like a paedophile, that they want to send sex toys to me, and advertise that my house is for sale," he said.

"One further email contained a death threat, and I have reported that to the police," he told the web version of Aftonbladet.
