A person who circumcised baby boys in Dalarna has been reported to the National Board of Health and Welfare after four of the children contracted an infection.

In the space of one week, four boys were rushed to the paediatric unit at Falun hospital. All had contracted the infection after being circumcised by the person, who is not a doctor but who is licensed to circumcise boys under the age of two months.

According to local newspaper Dala-Demokraten, the children in question were between ten weeks and 16 months old, so should therefore have been circumcised by a licensed doctor.
