A 54-year-old woman who stole a cat and struck its owner with a leash has been found guilty of theft and assault by Växsjö District Court. The court in the southern town sentenced the woman to probation.

In addition to the cat burglary, she was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in a separate incident in August.

The woman explained that she stole the cat because she thought it looked like it had been neglected.
