Axeman threatens council staff
Staff in municipal buildings near Stockholm were forced to lock themselves into an office on Thursday morning after a man armed with an axe broke in and threatened them.
The man used the axe to break his way into the social services office in Skogås, according to Stockholm police. Staff initially locked themselves in a neighbouring room, but then managed to escape via the emergency exit.
The axeman was arrested at 11:15 am. By that time he had poured petrol over the floor of the building's reception.
