A man in his mid-twenties was found dead in a property on Koön, an island near Marstrand, northwest of Gothenburg, early on Saturday morning.

The man's body was "in such a condition that there is reason to suspect murder", said police spokesman Geir Hogstad.

Hogstad did not provide any further details about how the man, who has not yet been identified, could have been killed.

"Twelve people have been taken to Gothenburg for questioning," said Hogstad to TT.

None of them is suspected of involvement in the crime, but the police have informed the prosecutor of the case.
