It appears that nobody missed the 67 year old until a local firm of lawyers tried to contact her to inform her that she was one of the beneficiaries of a will, reported Gefle Dagbladet.
For some months the firm had tried to contact her by letter but with no success. The lawyers then asked the company which managed the property to get in touch with her.
Only then was the woman, who has no relatives and who was described by neighbours as “retiring”, found in her home.
“She paid her rent by direct debit,” said Lars Gyllin of the property company.
“There were no complaints from anyone of water leaks. Quite simply, we had no reason to go into the apartment.”
