A young transvestite in Gävle who drunkenly assualted a policewoman after she asked him to remove his wig has been fined by a court in the town, 170 kilometres north of Stockholm.

The 24-year old had been detained by police after a hard night's partying and taken to the cells to sober up. The man, who repeatedly told the policewoman that he was a transvestite, refused to remove his wig.

When the policewoman told him that this was obligatory for people being placed in police cells he responded by punching her in the neck. He was found guilty on Wednesday of assaulting a police officer and fined, reports Arbetarbladet.
