Email fraudsters target Swedbank
Customers of Swedbank, one of Sweden's largest banks, have been the subject of an attempted email fraud.
A large number of people received emails on Wednesday, purporting to be from Swedbank, informing them that a "critical fault" meant that they had to download an update to their web browser.
Swedbank was advising customers on Wednesday afternoon to delete the email without opening it.
The email contained a number of spelling and typographical errors.
"We never send out emails with this kind of instruction to our customers," said Anna Hammarskiöld, spokeswoman for Swedbank.
