The men were said by police to be linked to a march by right-wing extremists in central Stockholm.

A further 15 people were arrested but released later in the evening, according to police.

Counter-demonstrators from left-wing groups had tried to stop the far-right demonstration, but they were removed by police and packed on to buses.

The two men who have been charged were said by police to be right-wing extremists who had attacked the counter-demonstrators using flagpoles.
