Linderoth signs for Galatasaray

Swedish international midfielder Tobias Linderoth on Tuesday signed a three-year contract with Turkish first division side Galatasaray from Danish outfit FC Copenhagen.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Danish club in 2004 from English side Everton, had scored six goals in 127 matches.

His contract had been due to expire in the summer of 2008.

“We’re tried for a long time to extend his contract, but have to concede that it wasn’t possible to reach agreement,” said FC Copenhagen sporting director Carsten V. Jensen.

“The transfer to Galatasaray was the only viable solution for all parties.”
