“There have been no objective finds to support her story. Some other people have provided details that partly support her version but these details can also be explained in other ways,” according to a police statement.
The woman’s mother was informed of the police’s suspicions at lunchtime on Tuesday.
“They are telling lies. There were witnesses to the assault and my grandchild who was there has spoken of ‘mean men’,” she told news agency TT.
