A 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody by police in Gothenburg in connection with the robbery and murder of a 45-year-old man at a kiosk in the city on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old boy suspected of involvement in the robbery has also been detained, though the court ruled that he is not suspected of murder.

Both have admitted to having carried out the robbery but deny involvement in the knife attack that resulted in the shopkeeper's death.

Police suspect that the victim was stabbed inside the newsagents where he worked, which is located by a tram stop in Länsmansgården on the island of Hisingen.

He then managed to make his way out of the shop before being taken by ambulance to Sahlgrenska Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
