A man in his fifties who was sentenced to five years in prison for forcing an eleven year old girl to have oral sex with him has been freed by the Court of Appeal. According to the court the girl's story was not credible, reported Norra Skåne.

"Her obvious desire for attention from the adult world means that one cannot ignore the fact that she could have provided exaggerated or even entirely untrue information," wrote the court, which added that the videotaped interview with the girl was characterised by "meagreness and a poverty of detail".

The man was initially found guilty of serious rape and serious sexual assault of a minor by Hässleholm district court.

He has consistently denied the accusations and is now expected to receive substantial compensation.
