Swedish economy gains momentum

Swedish economic momentum picked up in the second quarter, with gross domestic product growing 1.0 percent compared with the first quarter, official figures showed Thursday.
Growth in the first three months of the year came to 0.6 percent from the fourth quarter of 2006, according to the central statistics office.
Compared with the second quarter of 2006, the Swedish economy in second quarter 2007 expanded 3.6 percent after an annual pace of 3.0 percent in the first.
