It's time to bring the sun loungers out of storage and liberally apply the factor 30: summer is set make a brief appearance in Sweden this weekend, according to meteorologists at the SMHI state weather service.

“The weather will stabilize at the weekend and on Sunday it could reach 25 degrees in the southern half of the country,” said Mikael Hellgren, meteorologist at SMHI.

On Monday and Tuesday it is expected to be 24-28 degrees celsius across the country.

Later in the week, however, the weather is set to return to its recent poor form.

“In the middle of next week it will become unsettled again, with rain and cooler temperatures,” Hellgren said, but added that a sunny late summer was still possible during the rest of August.
