A man has gone on trial in central Sweden for murdering his girlfriend, then having sex with her corpse.
The man, who has admitted murder and the crime of 'disturbing the peace of the dead', killed his girlfriend on May 15th.
The killing followed a row between the couple. The man had told his girlfriend that he wished to end their relationship, but she had refused to leave his apartment, Expressen reports. He then attacked her with a knife and strangled her with a belt.
Following the killing, the man had sex with his girlfriend's dead body. Shortly afterwards he went to the police station and turned himself in.
