The man’s body was found at a house in Tullinge, south of the city centre, at 5am on Friday. Police initially questioned the woman shortly after they discovered the body.
“The information she gave in initial questioning was such that she was arrested on suspicion of murder,” police spokesman Kjell Lindgren told TT.
The man had been shot dead. Police had still not confirmed his identity on Friday afternoon. Police spent Friday examining the house for clues and interviewing neighbours.
A man who said he was a friend of the victim said that the dead man was in his thirties or forties and had worked in the building trade. He had recently started renting the newly-built house in which his body was found.
“He had borrowed my car to buy furniture today,” the friend told news agency TT.
