Schoolchildren attacked by wasps

A swarm of wasps has attacked a group of schoolchildren on a nature trail near Bjurholm in northern Sweden.

Seven pupils in total were stung by the angry insects. Three of the children were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

"But they don't seem to be in any danger. They were afraid that some of them might have been allergic," rescue worker Conny Erikssson told news agency TT.

The class was out walking on the Öreälv Trail on Monday morning when it suddenly found itself under attack
