Sex offender gets suspended sentence
A former confirmation leader and church politician from western Sweden has been found guilty of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy.
The 28-year-old man first made contact with the boy at the beginning of last year via an internet chat site, Metro reports.
He was convicted of sexually abusing a minor on one occasion, just a few weeks before the boy's 15th birthday.
The man received a probationary sentence and was ordered to take part in a counselling programme for convicted sex offenders.
The 28-year-old retired from all his church duties when he was arrested last autumn.
