A 29-year-old clairvoyant may face prosecution after tricking customers into paying her almost 300,000 kronor ($46,000) in return for keeping them safe from harm.

The fortune-teller is alleged to have told two people that their lives would be hampered by accidents and general bad luck. For a handsome fee, however, the cunning clairvoyant said she would be able to help them avert the danger.

The promise of a friction-free future was enough to make one of the customers part with 190,500 kronor, while the other is thought to have coughed up at least 98,900 kronor.

The woman was presented with the charges against her at Gothenburg District Court on Monday. She denies having committed any crime.
