In addition to pimping, he his also under suspicion for breaches of child pornography laws.
The illegal business operating out of his apartment was exposed in mid-September. The suspect was taken into custody but released again on September 14th.
When police launched a further investigation into the pimping allegations, they also found child pornographic images on the suspect’s home computer. The pictures are now to sent for analysis before a decision is made on whether to press charges.
Last week, the suspect resigned from his job at the Police Service offices in central Stockholm.
“The situation had become unsustainable. His bosses had lost all confidence in him and restricted what he was able to do,” the man’s lawyer, Torbjörn Lundkvist, told Metro.
Police said that the suspect worked with video technology and did not have access to any sensitive information.
