Icy roads in southern and western Sweden caused a number of accidents on Friday morning, as temperatures plunged below zero.

A number of cars veered off the roads in the region, including on the Riksväg 44 road between Uddevalla and Väne-Ryr and on the E45 near Lilla Edet. Nobody was reported injured.

Reports of accidents have also come from Skaraborg and Småland counties. Two cars crashed on a road just north of Skövde, bringing traffic to a standstill.

On Road 32 In Ingarp, near Eksjö in the same region, a car left the road. The driver sustained minor head injuries and was taken to Eksjö hospital.
