Strip club owners detained for tax evasion

The proprietors of four Stockholm strip clubs have been taken into custody for alleged tax-related offences. The suspects, three men and a woman, are thought to have withheld millions of kronor from taxation, Metro reports.

“In view of the fact that they have been detained we are clearly not dealing with small amounts,” public prosecutor Kim Andrews told the newspaper.

The alleged tax evasion was detected after police conducted a raid to investigate reports that the clubs may have been serving as a front for organized prostitution.
