Scania wins Clinton plaudit
Swedish truck and bus maker Scania has been named a 'preferred supplier' by former US President Bill Clinton's environmental movement.
The Clinton Climate Initiative said that Scania's ethanol-powered buses were one of the best available solutions for reducing CO2 emissions from urban traffic.
Scania said the honour would help it reach new markets among the C40 Large Cities Climate Leadership Group, which cooperates with the Clinton Climate Initiative.
CEO Leif Östling said the designation was "The distinction is a major success for Scania’s long-term commitment to renewable fuel engines."
"Our ethanol buses have comparable operating economy to diesel buses and this opens a great opportunity."
