The survey claims that 136 people who are Swedish citizens or based in Sweden are worth at least a billion kronor.
Kamprad's nearest competitor for the title of Sweden's richest man has a lot of catching up to do. Tetra Pak billionaire Hans Rausing's fortune is a relatively miserable 94 billion kronor. Other members of the Rausing family also feature on the list, in fifth, sixth and seventh places.
H&M founder Stefan Persson in in third place, with an estimated worth of 68 billion kronor.
Many of the Swedish billionaires now live outside the country: Kamprad is based in Switzerland and Hans Rausing has long lived in Britain.
Another common characteristic among the Swedish billionaires is their unassuming lifestyles. One possible exception is number ten on the list, Bertil Hult. The founder of language course giant EF, Hult celebrated his sixtieth birthday by flying guests to Boston, where he arranged for Stevie Wonder and Elton John to perform. The cost was reportedly a cool 40 million kronor.
