Woman admits to killing husband

A woman in her fifties has admitted to killing her husband at the couple's apartment in Vänersborg in western Sweden.

Police said that the man, who was in his sixties, was stabbed several times with a sharp instrument.

Police received a phone call from the woman shortly before 8am on Wednesday to say that her husband had died.

Certain details revealed over the course of the conversation led police to believe that the man may have been murdered.

When questioned by police she admitted that she was responsible for her husband's death.
