Swedish economy posts strong quarterly growth

The Swedish economy grew strongly in the third quarter, expanding 2.5 percent compared with output 12 months earlier, the central statistics office said on Thursday.

Compared with the three months to June, the economy gained 0.6 percent, Statistics Sweden said.

It said gross fixed capital formation grew 7.3 percent on a 12 month comparison while household consumption increased 3.5 percent.

Exports were up 5.2 percent and imports rose 9.7 percent.
