A 16-year-old boy was killed in a car accident on Sunday morning on the E4 highway, close to Arlanda Airport.

Emergency personnel explained that the boy died immediately, while another boy who accompanied him was injured and remains in a critical, but not life-threatening, condition.

The two boys were driving at a fast speed when the accident happened, according to the police, who were able to identify the dead boy. The boy who was taken to hospital has not yet been identified.

The car the boys were driving was later reported stolen.

"it was dark when the accident happened a little before 7am. It is hard to say what happened, but investigations are underway,” according to a spokesman for the police.
