Sweden has received a rap on the knuckles from the European Court of Justice for its failure to implement a directive on the coordination of procedures for the awarding of public contracts.
The period for implementation of the EU directive on public works contracts, public supply contracts and public service contracts expired on January 31st 2006.
Sweden conceded that the necessary laws had not been put in place but assured the court that work was underway to rectify the matter.
