The bus driver was stabbed in the arm in the robbery and underwent an operation at Västerås Central Hospital on Saturday night. His life is not in any danger, the hospital reports.

Police are hunting two young men in connection with the robbery which occurred at 6.30pm on Råbyleden in Västerås. The two men tried to force the driver to hand over his money but were unsuccessful. There were ten witnesses to the robbery.

The local traffic authority took the decision to cancel its city bus services until 6am on Sunday morning. Regional services continued but under armed guard.
