A Stockholm headmaster who allegedly hit a pupil as he tried to put an end to a violent snowball match faces charges, according to reports.

The headmaster is accused by witnesses of slapping the child, and assault charges are expected to be brought this week, according to Metro.

The incident took place earlier this year. Charges were delayed after errors in the investigation. The teacher has previously been suspected of another assault, but charges were not brought on that occasion.

The man was forced to leave his job in the autumn due to parental dissatisfaction over the incident, according to his successor.
