Woman reports group rape

Police in Härnösand in northern Sweden are investigating reports of a group rape alleged to have taken place in the town on Saturday night.

A woman in her thirties told police she was on her way home from a night on the town when she was attacked by several men. The men ripped of her clothes and raped her outdoors in the town's Kronholm district, she said.

During the attack the woman received cuts and other injuries to her back, arms and head. Her injuries were documented during a visit to a physician on Tuesday.

An investigation has been conducted at the alleged crime scene. According to police, the woman has not been able to supply a detailed description of any of her attackers.

Police have no suspects in the case and are calling on members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to step forward.
