Three new Swedish restaurants have been honored with their own stars in the recently released Guide Michelin Cities of Europe 2008.

Stockholm restaurants Leijontornet and Mathias Dahlgren Matsalen, as well as Gothenburg's Kock & Vin were added to this year's guide, bringing to twelve the number of Swedish restaurants with Michelin stars.

“It feels great. A Guide Michelin star is a goal both for the restaurant and for me personally,” said Leijontornet's head chef Gustaf Otterberg to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

Four new restaurants have also received a Bib Gourmand-award for having good food at affordable prices. They are Per Lei, Proviant, Ulla Winbladh and Carl Michael in Stockholm.

Mathias Dahlgren Matsalan was also given a “Rising Star” designation, signifying that it will likely receive an additional star in the future, reports the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper.
