A 70-year-old man died on Sunday morning after being run over by his own jeep.

The accident happened while the man was out hunting north of Arvika in western Sweden, SVT reports.

"He had gone back to his car and opened the trunk, probably intending to sit there and watch out for wild animals. After a hour some members of the hunting party found him dead under the vehicle," police spokesman Sören Lövengärd told TT.

According to the police, the jeep was parked on a slope. The handbrake had not been engaged and the vehicle was not in gear.
