A 57-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday on a farm outside Strömsnäsbruk in southern Sweden.

Her body was found in a pond. The woman's boyfriend, ambulance staff and doctors all tried to bring her back to life but after an hour and a half she was declared dead.

The woman went down to the pond to feed the birds and smoke a cigarette. Police believe that she may have dropped a packet of cigarettes in the water and waded in to try to retrieve them before slipping and losing consciousness.

Her shoes were found at the edge of the pond.
