A llama on the loose was disrupting traffic in Jönköping in south central Sweden on Wednesday.

Things could have been worse were it not for the actions of a lasso-slinging Swede who happened to pass by.

“I caught it with my lasso and held on until a truck arrived,” said Tommy Arvidsson to Sveriges Television about the llama.

Arvidsson, who participates in Western riding competitions, didn't have his horse with him in the vehicle, only his lasso.

He put the rope to good use, helping police who had been unable to catch the creature on their own.

The erratic llama reportedly escaped when being loaded onto a truck to be taken to a farm to help guard a flock of sheep.
