A girl aged 12-13 is thought to have been abducted from a car park in Olofström, in southern Sweden, at around 1.30pm on Monday, according to local newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning.

The police were alerted after several witnesses reported seeing two men force the girl into a rusty white car, near Halens camp site.

According to one eyewitness, the girl was crying out for help in English as she was lifted into the car.

Blekinge police have issued a national border alert and police districts nationwide have been informed of the incident. The matter is being classed as suspected kidnap or unlawful detention.
