Migration Board ups cooperation with Säpo

Säpo, Sweden’s security police, plans to work more closely with the Migration Board in a joint effort to combat refugee espionage.

Migration Board employees will be invited to training on how refugee espionage is carried out as well as how to protect against it.

Staff will also receive knowledge about how people who have left totalitarian states work to collect information on their political opponents and in which ways that can affect workers at the Migration Board.

Säpo will offer information about the groups toward which foreign states direct their efforts.

The news comes in a debate article published in the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper coauthored by Säpo chief Anders Danielsson and Dan Eliasson, head of the Migraion Board.
