Gays attacked by three boys

Three youths arrested for the assault of two homosexuals in Stockholm last Monday, were held in custody on Saturday, and charged with robbery and grievous bodily harm.

The two gay men were attacked and robbed in the early hours of last Monday. One of the victims was knifed in the stomach and sustained serious injuries.

The men, who are between 25 and 30, were attacked after kissing each other outside the Stockholm Pride festival area in Tantoluden, southern Stockholm.

Police have classified the crime as a hate crime, especially as the suspects also shouted words of abuse to the victims. The attack took place during the Pride festival, an event for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders.

The suspects are known to the police and are suspected of carrying out a robbery in central Stockholm before attacking the gay men.

A hearing is set for 15th August.
