It’s going to look like the Persian army in the movie 300. Steve Angelo, Sebastian Ingrosso and Busy P will be pulling the strings on a 50,000 strong crowd at Stureplan – The Go08 festival promises to be one for the history books.
Bureaucratic names seem to be the latest trend in the Stockholm club world. Dansdepartementet brings together Alexander Salzberger and Victor Brobacke on Saturday for a night of Nigerian funk, disco, trombones and garage rock. There might even be the odd track from the old post punk band of the same name.
Here’s where to go if you’re looking for a pre-party this weekend. Could there be a crazier combo than Cocotaxi and Dbty? At Bonden. Buckets of bass from Baltimore, fidget house and baile funk. Amazing exclusives from the Coco guys and Vem’Detta. Madness.
You know as well as we do that the best times have already been and gone and your record collection was at its hottest when you were sixteen. There’s plenty of room for indie nostalgia at Debaser’s singalong nights. Catti Brandelius is your hostess with Weeping Willows playing the songs. The indie choir does the vocals and you do the verses and chorus. On Friday.
Alternative J-Pop and experimental electronic. The slightly cliquey but always promising record label Friendly Noise is launching the autumn season at Sugar Bar with some very nice pop acts. Kumi and Differnet will grace the city’s most intimate stage.
Skavers remain in perpetual motion as they come to Fasching to play a show with Bringin it back. Coming along and dance to the bouncy tones of a band that has toured all over Sweden. Concert euphoria!
Dandy Digital and friends have planned a night of entertainment at Arkaden with the folks from LTD. The line-up includes Pär Grindvik, Simon Haydo and Gogol Plex. There will also be live sets from Staffan Linzatti and Van Rivers with The Subliminal Kid. Founder Pär Grindvik will take centre stage. Expect the lighting and electronica to convey a flavour of Berlin.
