Man dies in Gothenburg apartment fire

A fire in the Lundby district of Gothenburg claimed the life of a man early Tuesday morning.

When firefighters arrived finally made their way into the smoke-filled apartment on Madängsgatan, the approximately 65-year-old man had suffered serious burn injuries and crews were unable to save his life.

Emergency crews received a call about the blaze shortly before 3:00am and an hour later work continued to put out the flames.

The fire failed to spread to other apartments in the building.
