Inseparable Anglophiles Robert Plaszczyk and Magnus Carlson (Weeping Willows) run the incredibly popular Bangers’n’Mash club together with former Ride guitarist and current Oasis bassist Andy Bell

Every second Saturday they get the dancefloor moving to the baggiest Madchester, singalong Britpop and ravetastic acid house for all the Stockholm geezers in need of more excitement in their lives.

They have also brought over a steady flow of celebrities from England, including previous guests Mani, Peter Hook, Carl Barat, Dot Allison and Ian McCulloch.

DJ: Bob Stanley from Saint Etienne.

Bauer Weekends

The hyper attractive Götgatan bar Bauer has made a major commitment to getting in great DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Large sections of the snazzy Stockholm elite are brought together in the large bar to play everything from hip hop, Baltimore club and disco to indie rock and electro.

Address: Knast, Upplandsgatan 7

9pm – 1am

Free entry

Age: 18 and over

Down among the graffiti-covered stone walls, the candlelit darkness, thick dry ice, red leather sofas and curious images of skeletons and popes, Stockholm legend Tommie X opens the doors every Friday night to his wonderfully decadent club, Blondie.

The club is a coming together of the gays and the fag hags, the media old timers and the nineteen year old barflies, bewigged anorexic monsters and confused but happy indie poppers and fashionistas.

There is room for everybody here, whether you want to dance ’til you sweat to life-affirming eurodisco or sit and make out in the black sofas.

Club Barracuda

Address: Mosebacke, Mosebacke Torg 3

9pm – 2am

120 kronor

Age: 20 and over

Tropico poppers Thomas Gylling and Uncle Eric bash their wild heads together for a spectacular spree up at the classic Mosebacke club venue. Expect everything from dancehall and R&B to soca, Brail, Latin and New Africa.

Carnival Night with Uncle Eric, Thomas Gylling and Erykah.

Fritz´s Corner

Address: Debaser Slussen, Karl Johans Torg 1

8pm – 3am

100 kronor (60 kronor for members)

Age: 18 and over (20 for members)

Fritz’s Corner is one of the city’s oldest and most popular rock clubs. Every Saturday sees an offering of wonderfully interesting live bands from Södermalm and abroad, as well as a busy dancefloor shaking to everything from electro pop to rock’n’roll.

Live: Amazing Baby (US) and Joensuu 1685.

Klubb Idyll

Address: Landet, LM Ericssons Väg 27

7pm – 1am

30 kronor (20 kronor for members, free until 9pm)

Age: 18 and over

Queer club Idyll has left the miniscule surroundings of El Mundo bar for the larger Landet at Telefonplan. But the concept remains the same as before.

One weekend a month the club serves up dance, sweat, sexy electro and electronic orgasms in equal measure.

There is almost always some form of cultural activity early in the evening – a book release and reading, speed dating, or a workshop – before the disco gets underway.

Erotic theme night with DJ Astral Bambi! and Slut Soundsystem.
